About Crash-free drving

Crash-free driving products are designed and supplied by Driver Safety Services, Australia's leading provider of driver safety and management services.

Driver Safety Services is based in the island state of Tasmania. Originally known as Road Transport Training, RTT was established in 1985 by the Tasmanian Road Transport Industry Training Board to service the training needs of their industry. RTT's initial focus was on skills-based training and later, as a Registered Training Organisation, delivering nationally recognised courses and qualifications.

Up-skilling the Tasmanian road transport industry is RTT's core business. However, making drivers more skilful does not always translate into behavioural change or better business outcomes. In response to compelling research, RTT has broadened its mission. It now reads: through innovation, our people, and technology, we develop leading edge approaches to cost effectively improve driver behaviour.

To help achieve its mission RTT acquired the company Driver Improvement Consultancy (DIC). DIC staff were known in Australia for challenging convention and being the innovators in road safety. In the early 1990s they developed the low-risk model of driving. Many driver training organisations now imitate their work. From the low-risk model emerged crash-free driving and the innovative products and services you can access on this site.

In 2008 Road Transport Training was renamed Driver Safety Services.
